Dog Grooming Tips by Cesar Millan

I watched this video today. It’s a really cool mobile grooming van. I don’t think we have any of this in Malaysia. In this video, note that dogs also have their button. You just need to find them.

I agree that owners are the ones responsible for their dog behavior. Not everyone should have a dog. There should be screening.

Stay vs. Wait Command

This is another STAY command video by Eric from, DogTrainingInnerCircle.com. He gave a good advice about the difference between STAY and WAIT command.

Notice in his video, he also uses the word “Good Stay” when training the dog. You might want to try it if the current method you’re using doesn’t really work.

Note that you must increase your distance to your dog gradually.

Teach Your Dog the STAY Command

I’d like to share with you how you can teach your dog the STAY command. There’re many ways to teach the STAY command. If you asked me which one should you use? I’d say try them all and pick which one works for your dog. As long as the method doesn’t hurt your dog, try it.

In this video, the trainer is adding distraction by moving left and right. It that can’t be considered as “distraction”, you might need to try another distraction.

The most IMPORTANT thing you need to know about the STAY command is that you must RELEASE you dog. You can choose any word to release your dog, “FREE”, “BREAK”, “OK”. Just be consistent.

Tomorrow I’ll show you another video by another trainer who teaches the STAY command. Let me know what you think about this video.
